David Blaine ...

... is alive, at the end of his recent underwater stunt. And I feel compelled to say, "So what?"

I can't find anything particularly life-affirming or socially-redeeming about this bit of theatre. I don't even think it's good performance art. And if he truly wanted to call attention to something "important," he should have done the whole thing from Darfur, not Lincoln Center.

The guy has no charisma whatsoever as far as I can tell.

Now, Derren Brown - that guy pulls some cool tricks and doesn't pretend to be a martyr.

Good. I thought I was the only one who didn't give a frak about this guy. Just sign me...not at all impressed.

What happened? I just caught the last bit of the ambulance taking him away, but I dunno what happened.

He's fine. I guess he had an episode trying to break the 9 minute underwater/holding his breath record. EMS - who surely had better things to do - pulled him out.

In any event, he's doing far better than all of the abandoned children, abused women, displaced families and other people on the planet whom the news media could have been covering.

This guy? Just some attention-seeking freak who peed down a tube for a week or so in front of a bunch of New Yorkers who were just trying to get to work/school/whatever past the crowds of lookie-Lous.

Bogus, have you seen him "levitate"?

Are you kidding? The last time I saw a man lift himself from the Earth without the aid of a mechanical device was when Mike uncovered a garden snake in the yard last summer.

LMAO !!! I wish I could see that!

The first time I ever saw David Blaine on TV, was when he did "street magic" in New York. (Not the more potent VINCENT D'ONOFRIO NEW YORK STREET MAGIC)
That's when he levitated for two woman and the one almost passed out!

When he did a thing in London they threw eggs at him. Think he just sat in a glass box for days or something like that. jen
